The Asian Ratsnakes and Kin of Greater China

Post by Kevin Messenger »

Hey all, just wanted to mention, I've finished my first book. Right now only the paperback is available, on Amazon. Maybe in the next week or two, the hardback will be available. The book is bilingual and meant to be half field guide half reference book. Covers 19 species from the region, 360 images, 190 pages.

Here's a pic of the back cover, spine, and front cover:

The paperback is $45 usually (Amazon has it on special at the moment for $35). When the hardback comes out, it'll be $70.

Amazon link to the book:

For those interested in a hardback copy, I'll update this when the HB is out. If anyone has any questions, please let me know, or want to see some interior pages, examples, etc.

Best to all, again, any questions, feel free to shout out.
best,
-kevin

Great thanks! The paperback does not have as good quality paper as the hardback will. My thought process here - cheap and light one, meant for the field, no big deal if damaged - hardback, meant for the bookshelf. Bibliophiles have been disappointed in the quality of the paper, but unless you're a diehard bibliophile, many others have still been very happy with the content (they just wish the paper/ print job was higher quality)

I'm still waiting on hearing from the publisher on the hardback copy. Maybe another week for it.

Anyway, thanks for purchasing! Let me know if you have any questions. I'm working on book #2, the Venomous Snakes of China - same sort of format - bilingual, half field guide, half reference book.

I just received my $35 Amazon paperback. The paper quality and photographic reproductions are fine, and I am happy that it is 8.5 X 11 size, so the text and photos don't require a magnifying glass. Keep them coming Kevin!

Received my book the other day. Really great! I thought the photo and paper quality of the paperback was very good. I was unaware of several of the species that are covered.

Thanks Kevin!
