but out of respect to herpers who have put boots and noesis to yucatan soil I am answering to be corrected or affirmed and leave the rest to those guys.
I sure do appreciate a wild anuran post. Its truly remedial!
Thanks
Kelly

Re: Help with ID - Yucatan, Mexico
Check out Tlalocohyla loquax for 2 and 3 - I'm not positive... but I think it fits.
#7 is definitely Triprion petasatus .
Nice job,

I found another one for your input...
Small, as you can see with the leafs.
Active during night.
Distinct pattern.
I lean towards Anolis species??
A.rodriguezii ?
A.lemurinus ?
A.tropidonotus ?

Re: Help with ID - Yucatan, Mexico
Baby A. sagrei i would think.
Re: Help with ID - Yucatan, Mexico
Any other input on this? As far as juvenile anolis sp in possible contention?
As I would be interested in the data.
I notice, unfortunately that I.D requests and discourse sometimes takes place per PM instead of On Forum; this is unfortunate and while it provides some insulation of ego, it defeats the purpose of the greatest reptile discussion forum on Earth.

Re: Help with ID - Yucatan, Mexico
I looked at the anolis photo a couple of weeks back but didn't have an answer. It's of the Norops clade (which includes sagrei as Kelly postulated), and could be any of the three listed in the original message based on general morphology and locality. But, my knowledge of these anoles ends there. In Julian Lee's Yucatan book, discerning between the three species requires such trivia as whether or not the ventral scales have keels, along with other characters that cannot be discerned from the photo.
Also, I agree with sdpete that the last frog is a Triprion, not a Scinax.
Good luck,
Jeff

Re: Help with ID - Yucatan, Mexico
Excellent addendum.
Re: Help with ID - Yucatan, Mexico
The species that have the keels on the belly you Jeff, remarked about made me think of some asiatic arboreal agamids that had strongly keeled, spire like ventral scales, and to a lesser degree or same a kind of one way texture all over the body. It seemed to act w mild velcro effect as a damper against slips and truly they never actually fall. They are one if the most beautifully engineered scale types to my appreciation. Something I never thought Id ever actually get to say but there you go.
