Amazing post!!! :thumb: I really like the golden-crowned snake.
How hard was it to spot those leaf-tailed gecko? I know that in Madagascar, they were almost impossible to spot.

The best way to spot them is by their eye shine. I usually dim my headlight while looking for them so as not the wash out the reflection. Although, a number of our finds were just because we stared at the right piece of rock or tree at the right time.

I'd love to go to Madagascar and look for Uroplatus. Did they have prominent eye shine or did you have to rely entirely on picking out their shape?

Very nice, Stephen.
despite me inadvertently throwing my hand into some stinging tree
I know the feeling well! I walked through a thicket containing a young stinging tree while looking for Mt. Ossa Leaftails. Talk about pain! It took a few months before the tingling finally subsided.
