Planning fall trip to Snake Road part 2
My dad (72 years old) has decided to meet me and get in a father/son herptrip like in the old days. I would like any imput on motels nearby as camping is now out of the question. Thanks a head of time.

The Lincoln in Anna, Il. is likely the closest, but it's not a really nice place. Giant City Lodge is really nice, great food but at least half an hour away.

There's a fairly new Super8 motel in Anna-Jonesboro. You should make a reservation just to be sure. The Anna Motel is awful and the Lincoln Motel has la cucarachas and hot and cold running mice.

The Lincoln is the scariest place I've ever stayed and I've stayed at some pretty scary places. I'll be down there the weekend of the 8th and can tell you that the Super 8 has a wedding party that weekend and it pretty close to being fully booked - so if that's your choice (it's not terribly far from Snake Road), book it soon.

The weekend of the 8th would be great if I wasn't doing my son's first bday... I'm likely going the week prior if anyone cares.

Anna has a Super 8, and Cape G. which isn't too far away has several motels. When my wife and I motel it instead of camping, we usually stay in Cape G because it has a good brew pub and more eating options than Anna.

I've been to that brew pub. Can't think of what its called but stick to the burgers. My catfish was terrible. Can't speak for the beer, I had whiskey.
