So cool. FHF's Eric Rittemeyer is part of the frog discovery team, too, no?

I have no idea if that is true. All I know is what is in the article.

You're right Tamara. Eric (ritt) was involved.

John

Can you get him to perhaps add his perspective this find on this thread?

Thanks

He's in Panama with limited internet access until next week, but if this thread gets buried before he sees it I'll make sure to let him know.

I can help. Not only was Eric involved, but this was from an expedition he and a couple others organised and secured funding/collaboration/permits for while undergraduates. Oh, and it was not even his senior thesis project. That was on phylogeography of Texas Alligator lizards. He's a superstar and deserves the attention. Hope he's enjoying it :)

My favorite quote from the cnn article on this subject was, "Researchers believe these creatures eat even smaller animals". I sure hope the person who figured that out got a medal! That aside, this is a very cool find.

Jon wedow read the comment above out loud at the beach house here in Panama last night and my mother-in-law has been asking Eric for his autograph since.
