Approaching the issue from a neutral posture. Chris Martenson, PhD in Pathology. In this video , takes the most current and detailed look at the theories surrounding the origin of Covid-19 . Without Conspiracy Theories or hyperbole . At about the 12:45 mark he begins discussing wet markets (all the stuff Bandied about). I would recommend at the very least watching the video from this point to the end. Dr.Martenson not only analyzes the scientific facts, but also looks at what top researcher's from around the world are saying.

We already know the wet markets are likely to blame, the WHO said so via REUTERS.
There was already a thread on this matter but I had in locked due to fighting and bickering.

We don't seem to know conclusively where this damn thing came from yet, but be cautious of anyone overtly or subtly trying to answer, who isn't on the front line.
If you agree or not, always follow the money to verify the source:
Like a political party that seems to be full of folks who value money over human life and compassion, when you are trying to achieve an unethical goal, it’s always good to defer attention with blame, doubt, chaos, confusion, and social division, so as to shift attention from their real goal. $$$$$
This guy starts by planting his conclusion, but then states up front, but not again till conclusion (if you can last that long), that none of this is super definitive, yes or no...... but……
(now his sales pitch)…
In this gentleman’s video he’s trying to lay down the foundation of doom and gloom and plant a seed of distrust. He is a master of implication and circumstance with questionable conclusions.
He’s trying to scare us. (When it comes to “belief”, we humans tend to believe what we want to believe.)
First his “ad verecundiam”, an expert in COVID-19:
“1994 PhD from Duke’s Department of Pathology where he specialized in toxicology. While he published scientific research in the ’90s, for at least the last decade Martenson has focused on predicting stagflation and other large shifts in financial markets.”
Google him.
https://www.resilience.org/resilience-a ... martenson/
"Chris Martenson, PhD (Duke), MBA (Cornell) is an economic researcher and futurist specializing in energy and resource depletion"
https://www.peakprosperity.com/
So, what’s the primary motivation? Why would you want to plant an idea that there may be someone to blame?
Apparently if you listen to him, you can avoid financial loss during the upcoming “ends of the world” by paying him for the info.
Or you can cut corners by just buying gold. (His partner Adam Taggart has wrapped himself around this).
The intelligence agencies are best for finding out if China did anything nefarious, not internet bloggers making money on your fears.
It’s really mostly irrelevant now where this virus came from. It’s here; we need to stick together, do our part by being safe, and increase comprehensive, dependable testing to gain information, before jumping to conclusions.

Re: Putting the blame on Asian Wet Markets and Covid-19
Thanks Bill. I read some articles that confirmed what you are saying. He seems to have taken some very real information regarding sustainability issues, then parlays that into a sort of "financial planner for the end times" gig that is quite obsessed with precious metals. Reading into some of the stories about him I wouldn't necessarily say he's a bad guy or nefariously biased, but he does have his own inherent biases and doesn't seem like the best go-to for this sort of information. From what I can tell his Ph.D. (which is usually listed as neurotoxology) had nothing whatsoever to do with this issue nor has he been remotely connected to public health and epidemiology in decades if ever.BillMcGighan wrote: ↑May 17th, 2020, 8:20 amWe don't seem to know conclusively where this damn thing came from yet, but be cautious of anyone overtly or subtly trying to answer, who isn't on the front line.

Interestingly, he's also an extremely strong advocate of climate change. I hope Ernie can take his own advice back and learn something from the man:

This is consistent with the "make money on fear" ideology.Interestingly, he's also an extremely strong advocate of climate change.
What he truly thinks, and what he is right or wrong about, we may never know. There's allot of "tell folks what they want to hear, sincere or not, for alternate gains" going around!

Re: Putting the blame on Asian Wet Markets and Covid-19
Your general line of thought is legit as a general caution, but if the story is accurate and isn't a made-up backstory, then he was actually living the high life and making more money before he went down this rabbit hole. I would believe he'e an ideologue with certain tendencies moreso than he's cash motivated. I did a little bit of reading of reviews of his stuff from economics people and sustainability people both and they certainly don't agree with everything he says but they think he's sincere.BillMcGighan wrote: ↑May 17th, 2020, 12:59 pmThis is consistent with the "make money on fear" ideology.Interestingly, he's also an extremely strong advocate of climate change.

Dr. Martenson posted this video a few weeks ago, It provides a profound analysis of the "natural" v's "man-made" quandary. A question that remains very much up in the air.
