goini/meansi

They finally locked up. I've put them together three years now. I was going to pull them apart, finally to give up this year. I then saw them locked up. I'm excited the female is a really big girl, she's gentle and never misses a meal. The male is just as good of an eater but is meaner than hell. He bit me in the bicep twice the other day. I took pics but I don't have them off the camera yet. I'll post them soon, if anyone even likes Appalachicola kings.

Here's the only pics I took. In hindsight I should have done more, these guys have been a real pain to get to lock up.

Those are some good looking kings- I like their patterns and colors.

Congrats on getting the pairing. I have heard that breeding kings can be fraught with difficulty! Never tried it myself though....maybe one day.

I'll be looking forward to seeing those cute little noses peeking out of eggs!

I really like the juvies, they go through some amazing changes from when they first come out. I'll see if I have pics of these guys. I got them both after their first meal. I would like to get some of the patternless ones, but these came from CB animals and I would like to find some that are also CB. I don't want to mess with this population if I can help it.

Getula kings are easy enough. Never tried other lampropeltis though like zonata or pyros or alterna.

Paul,

I would have thought so too. This is my go round with breeding Kings. I was going to give up on this pair.

eh, you can always have one stubborn pair. But just, in general, getula aren't hard to breed (IMO). I was responding to Berkley saying he'd heard they were difficult.

THey look neat...hope the offspring turn out for ya. Got any full shots of the parents?

That's really cool, Justin. They are my favorite East coast getula. It will be cool to see what you get out of that clutch. :thumb:

I've got 19 eggs which seems insane for getula. I will let you guys know how it goes. Only one was a definite slug.
