Little Ricky

Post by Kelly Mc »

Here is a pic of my spotted turtle. His tank is in the kitchen. He likes it there and is good friends with my GF who gives him little treats when she cooks for me and the dogs.

He does the sitting under the water thing on his own. Its off and on - he will do it every day almost , then he stops , like "forgets" about it. I never touch or move any of my animals before I take a pic. I hope someday to understand my camera so that my pictures come out better. I see many wonderful moments that I would like to capture in justice. Ricky is cb 2006.

Those are wonderful moments, those which you'd always love to share but are usually too ephemeral, or you don't think to snap the pic. Very sweet! :D 8-)

Thanks Monklet :) Your pics in the herpetoculture forum were the first I have loved since the day I logged in , besides pics of herps in the wild , as is.

I have enjoyed them all but especially like how you present your specimens on the black matte - it is deliberate , without guile, artful and respectful. It has the clarity value of scientific lithograph yet reminds me of retro photography of babies on swaths of satin and that affectional note makes me smile.

Pretty little Spottie. I have several (9 maybe)? And I find them the best pet turtle there is.

Thank you for the nice comments about Ricky. He is very amusing but hard to take pictures of. You would think a turtle would be easy but my clumsy camera skills dictate I get close and he takes off Plunk.

Yeah, 2 are babies and pretty soon I will (hopefully) have 4 or 5 more; but yeah - it's a pretty cool colony.
