Very cool looking boas. How's their temperament?

Re: Current ATB kids still with me
I have found CBB ATB's to be quite tractable and easy to deal with. They do still bite as babies but if raised correctly (minimal stress) and caged correctly they don't tend to relate your presence with stress. Stuffing them in a drawer with opaque walls so they never see any movement seems to make them far more likely to bite than when kept in a glass front cage where they can see movement. I check on them every day or two but rarely touch them unless it is needed to clean cages and they seem ok with that. The less negative interactions the better. If you have them in a cage where they can anchor to something with their tail and it requires you to unwind them to get them out, that counts as a negative. With that in mind when planning a cage you can get animals that are quite calm and easy to handle. I have 2 out of 16 adults that bite and one of them is calming with time, the other is a WC. Of the 16, 4 are WC and of the 4 only the 1 is a biter. The remaining 12 only contains the one other biter.michael68 wrote:Very cool looking boas. How's their temperament?

Haha Glad I could help! I love these guys and my only problem is making a choice on what direction to go with these. In theory I am supposed to have breeding goals and direction but I am just happy with lots of beautiful babies still. I have noticed some trends with certain males so I am trying to see if I can use those male with different females and still get similar results.monklet wrote:This is PAINFUL ...love ATBs and these are so sweeeet.
