New at feeding
I'm currently trying to raise two desert banded geckos (Coleonyx variegatus variegatus), and I wanted to know if anybody else has them and can give me any tips on vitamins, humidity, or anything else you think a breeder should know or take into consideration. Thanks (:

Re: New at feeding
There are numerous care sheets online which are generally good.
I keep my banded geckos in tubs with paper towel substrate. Each has a humid hide (coconut fiber). I usually save the vitamins for the feeder insects. I use a jar lid for a water dish, and a jar lid with Miner-All powder for calcium.

I also cool mine for a couple of months every winter. I don't know if it significantly impacts fertility rates, but it does give me a little break.
The jar lids I speak of are plastic screw-on types, about 1.5" across. I order them in bulk online so they're pretty cheap to use as water dishes.
I'm currently feeding them primarily dubia roaches; the variegatus will eat them up to about an inch long, depending on the size of the gecko.
