Tokay Gecko eating Stink Bugs

Hello,
Has anyone seen or tried feeding stink bugs to Tokay Geckos. I freaquently find them in my studio (about 2 or 3 at least a day) along with the occasional escapee cricket. Have thought about getting one to roam free in my apartment. Anyone have experience or suggestions on this? I keep my room at an ambient temp of 72, & not worried about accidentally introducing them as I live in Jersey so there's no way they'd be able to survive our winters outside an artificial habitat. I know the stink bugs & tokay geckos habitat overlap but havnt found any literature regarding Tokay feeding on them in the wild.

No matter where we live it seems the comfort zone we cultivate in most human households is too cool and dry or just too dry for geckos in the house to work. There are exceptions and besides sustained warm temps some wet, drippy water source and alot of cement is involved, or alot of aquarium tanks or some other broad-brushed access that includes easy water.

When we see geckos that 'get' inside human habitation from the outside, it gives an impression that misses important factors. Perhaps even more so if they happen to be an invasive.

What usually happens when geckos are "put" inside is they dont thrive, because of dehydration.

Yeah, I've been trying to figure that out. I usually run a humidifier at night and some of my walls a have water droplets on them (I don't have sheet rock walls, don't worry). I do plan on picking up some large "house plants" like a palm tree or something with a lot a crevices and overlapping leaves. I've thought about getting one of those desk top water falls, similar to the ones you use with chameleons. But yeah, I've had Mediterranean House geckos get loose before and when I finally was able to recapture them I always had to keep them desperate for a few days & rehydrate them.

Exactly.

Ive seen/had frogs and geckos - mostly geckos loose but they had wet service areas and tons of warm spaces and open cricket bins, not to metion everything else roaming in a (most years) pesticide free environment.

Herps get lost and deactivate in cool places, and dessicate. Let alone the good providence that whatever it is you are targeting them to eat - may not target the herp or even cross paths with it.

But it could be done. Sorry but I have no feedback on the stinkbugs. See what transpires..

Kelly's response here is the best reason not to generally let them run free.

I've seen captive and wild tokays eat just about anything from roaches, small lizards, frogs, snakes, tiny mice, and even baby birds, but, if you're talking Brown Marmorated Stink Bugs, I'd like to know if even Tokays will even eat them!?? Their chemical defense is formidable.
