Hentz Striped Scorpion
Yellowjacket (Vespula squamosa) queen
I think this is a Carolina Wolf Spider, but the big ones I've seen were about as big around as a half dollar coin. I've even seen mothers with egg sacs, and they were around that size. But this spider was about as big around as a coffee mug. As shown it is probably 4" across. So, wolf spider on steroids or something else?
Another fascinating part of field herping, along with all the other natural wonders we encounter, is the invertebrates! This forum is dedicated to both field and captive invertebrates.
