Whoa was this thing cool! Funny enough, I had a friend just come back from Ecuador and showed me a picture of one from there. It held the grey color but also was a brilliant orange on its extremities.
I was walking around my relatives ranch in good old Mt Airy NC and this guy was on this pine branch right at eye level. Actually, I just realized there is a second one below it! Never thought I would see one, definitely the coolest insect I've found recently.
