I haven't been herping in months, but I made a 5-hour round trip to Cape May, NJ specifically to photograph these Stinging Rose Caterpillars feeding on Bayberry:
I also found this oddly-colored Meadow Katydid, which I believe is a (xanthic? hypo-green? don't know the term for a green-less katydid) variant of Orchelimum agile:
Another fascinating part of field herping, along with all the other natural wonders we encounter, is the invertebrates! This forum is dedicated to both field and captive invertebrates.
