Even though these are VERY common here, when you see a big female out on the move it will still get your attention...

How about this Aphonopelma from the Sierra Madre, back in August.
I've never taken the time to look this up, but it's from the Amazon, and about the size of a man's big toe.
I also saw the same spider in white too, failed to get a photo though.

Wow, you found Aphonopelma moorei! I agree on the Micrathena ID...beyond genus, though...no clue.
