Ha! Lawrence is too fast for me. Once again Fish and Game can't keep up with Cal Fire.
Re: Santa Cruz lecture
Even though I know it's true, somehow I still can't quite wrap my head around the phrase "deadly California newt." I mean, look at that face:

No need to remind me that it's true. I know. It just has a Monty Pythonesque killer bunny quality to it.

PS. See you at the talk!

Re: Santa Cruz lecture
I used to be a member of the Arboretum, so I know that place well. A good spot for photographing Allen's amd Anna's hummers with the occasional lizard or snake cruising through. Not sure if I can make it, though a rainy salamander night could draw me out of hiding
Re: Santa Cruz lecture
I used to herp there all the time when I lived on campus. . . idk if it;s still there but there used to be some boards around there that have produced for me, and a few woodpiles in the back cuts of the arboretum that you can usually find sallies in Hope I'm not breaking any location rules...
Re: Santa Cruz lecture
They're still there.
