Recent Taxonomy Updates

Post by chrish » January 30th, 2015, 9:28 pm

Thought I would start a post here where those of us updating the taxonomy can report/keep track of what we are updating.

In the last few days, I have been working synchronizing the Herpmapper database with the AROD (Australian Reptiles Online Database) by adding newly described species and common names.

So far I have synced -

- the Australian Pythons (although I an unsure about what to do about Simalia for the Scrub Pythons)

- the elapid genera Pseudechis and Pseudonaja

- the Australian Agamids

- the Australian Geckos

- the Pygopodiae (the whole family)

- the Australian skinks in the genera
Acritoscincus
Anepischetosia
Anomalopus
Bellatorias
Calyptotis
Carlia (synced the whole genus worldwide - yes, this one sucked!)
Coeranoscincus
Coggeria
Cryptoblepharus (the whole genus, this sucked 100 times worse than Carlia!)
Ctenotus

still a bunch of skinks to go.

I will update this list as more stuff gets updated.
