my NAHERP records are on herpmapper

Post by Coluber Constrictor » April 8th, 2016, 5:56 pm

there was a poll a while back (I can't find it on here) and I declined to give permission for my NAHERP records to be imported to Herpmapper. But they are on there. Are all NAHERP records automatically imported to herpmapper now?

I voted no and I don't see mine there. Go back and check your vote. My problem with Herpmapper is that even if I approve who has access today, that doesn't protect my data from who they add later.

The problem is, I can't find whatever poll it was. But I definitely voted no. I would prefer to use NAHERP only. This was several months ago if I remember correctly.

Apparently I forgot to actually vote, but I did specifically state in the comments that I did not want my NAHERP records to be transferred to Herpmapper, and they were anyway.

This is alarming to me. So if one did not vote, the records are automatically transferred? I don't like that. Don Becker, can you clarify this, please? Thank you in advance.

edited to add: I understand, now. Thank you, Don. It is an account settings thing.

Your account is set to release your Non-sensitive data if the majority of users approve the release, and you don't vote. There was note vote for you in the system, so the release scripts included your non-sensitive data per your profile settings on naherp.

I do not manually review comments for releases, it is an automated system.

I don't recall voting, and I don't see my records in Herpmapper...

Then I guess you don't recall the fodder that fueled the firebrands of the Great dery Rising. I know Samuel Dery perfectly well. Yet we have been out of commission due to a family feud that has exploded last fall and declining health due to a mystery illness that most people would now have a coma from due to pain.
