1100 miles south

Post by kyle loucks »

My family and I like to vacation in the south, and of course, I weave a little herping into the mix. I had not travelled to the
southeast corner of Florida in the past so this year I was up for some lifer activity for the most part, thanks to my friends along the way.

24 species, 8 of which were lifers.

Salamanders - 1

4 Greater Sirens* - Lifers

Found with Josh Young, Josh Holbrook and Don Filipiak.

Glad to see you did well in the south, Kyle. You had a nice array of animals. I am envious of your sea turtle, even if it was deceased. :(

Josh Young is very elusive.
Always enjoy your photos and accounts. One of these days we'll get together for some tromping.

Looked like a good visit, Kyle, though some of those dudes you hang with are a little shakey!

The most bizarre thing to me about SE FL herping is you are either in the “glades”, middle of nowhere, or stalking "curly tails" on someone’s front lawn!

Thanks for sharing.

Odd folk indeed...

I'm glad you enjoyed your time down here, it was great meeting you. See you in Illinois in early October, right? Right!??

Best,
-Don
