Am I nuts? I visited WI one September several years ago and found nothing beyond browns and redbellies on the roads after dark, smooth greens, hognose and some garters during the days and a few spotted sals, red backs and blue spots in the mornings. Are the milks all under ground and/or should I just bring my fishing tackle? I'm curious...
'Hope everyone is having a great season!

Hi Tim, I have to say, you might be only interested in milks, but I would kill to see that diversity in Wisconsin on a single trip.
Oh, and yes, bring your fishing tackle too!

Weird that you didn't see Milks...Sept. is great for them in the Driftless area. Ben and I found over 60 in one day.

I have seen milk snakes into late October in southern WI.
I am of the same sentiment as "knight crawler" I did a snake survey of the "southwest savanna" region in SW WI and milk snakes were by far the most common snake I encountered. I would find them at literally every roadcut in May, and to a lesser extent September.
