Late last fall snakes and early spring herps.

Post by skullduggery1 »

I always enjoyed nature, although was fairly new to going on trips specifically for finding herps. Here are some photo's from mid november and early spring this year. All are taken in nw ohio.First two november pics are of a black phase garter snake, and a northern water snake. Then a spring 2012 garter and some salamanders.I believe a redback,(of which I found five)and two unisexual ambystoma.(of which i found seven)On the same day my wife and son, were with me and all together we flipped fifteen salamanders all together, with some blue spotted salamanders.Pictures were taken with a primitive contraption. :? Nice finds! I've got to get over there sometime and see some of those melanistic garters. You might want to hit enter after pasting each image code, so we can see them without scrolling horizontally.
