Northwestern Alligator Lizard

I found these alligator lizards (Elgaria coerulea principis) on May 6. It was one of the first really warm days here in BC. A good day of herping even though I only saw 2 alligator lizards and some seals.

This is the first one I saw. I couldn't catch him, he so fast but at least I got a picture:

This a fish I caught in the ocean, I don't know what kind though:

and finally these are the seals, there were about 50 that swam past me :eek:

Hey, thanks for the nice pics and details of your herping day. Your fish is a sculpin probably of the cottoidae family. There are hundreds of species worldwide and many are difficult to identify to species level.
