Getting a early start on the Snake season in Oregon

With the unseasonably warm temps for January, I decided to try my luck at finding some Garters. So yesterday I headed out to the West side of Portland. When I arrived the sun had been out for just a little bit and the ground temps were running at about 55. I lost count at 20 and the hillside was just crawling with snakes. So many I had to watch where I was stepping. The sun was covered by a thick cloud layer within 1/2 hour of arriving and they started to retreat back into the ground.
I do not have enough time to detail each picture so ENJOY.

Hi Damon!
Excellent. Looks like the snakes are as anxious as we are to be part of our herping experience!
Thanks for sharing.

Very cool, Damon!
Are the first two photos
T. ordinoides?
I would love to go out and find more than 20 garters in a single outing... I think my record so far is 11.

Nice finds, especially for January. I don't head over to Portland to Herp very often but it looks like I might need to check it out.

Is it a bullfrog under the grass in the shallows of the far bank? If so, what's my prize?

I haven't visited the forums for some time so am behind on 'news'.
I went out the same day here in Corvallis (Jan. 30th) and found two adult male Rubber Boas.
I have only been out twice since, February 21st when I encountered 11 adult male boas and then March 9th when I found 8 more while releasing the 11 found on Feb. 21st.
Today was a good day to find snakes locally as well with mid 50 degree temperatures and considerable sunshine in-between the cloud cover. But I when hawking instead.
