Here's a collection of signs we've found so far in West Sarawak. Some of these I've posted before, but this is the first time they're being issued in an exclusive, limited-edition gift set!
Funnily enough, I've never seen signs warning of snakes or bees, as is common in Taiwan.

Good stuff, Hans.
I'm impressed to see that someone is putting them up.
The "slippery surface" sign reminds me of a gruesome story where a botanist in Borneo, slipped on a trail cut recently through a bamboo patch. He was impaled on some sharp bamboo (which can grow 6 inches (15 cm) overnight.
Septicemia ensued and he died.
Whew!!!!!

I couldn't handle using the toilet in the muslem countries. That's not an odd caution if you understand the origin.
The rest is a cool note to cultural differences.

Muslems? Wow! The crouch-toilet is widespread throughout SE Asia regardless of religion.-EJ wrote:I couldn't handle using the toilet in the muslem countries.
Great post again, Hans.

I still couldn't handle it. What was so cool is seeing them in the harware stores. Oh... what is the largest muslum population?

Thanks, guys!!
I believe the story of the impaled biologist. You have no idea how immensely slippery (think black ice) mold-covered plankwalks can be until you've tried to walk on one. I never hit the trails without a sturdy walking stick for balance.

Hahaaa.....yeah, they don't mince words in this region, do they? There are similar signs in Singapore, around the military exercise/live drill area close to the Zoo.

I like Rags' avatar. After having tasted and smelled the fruit I can totally relate. My mousebirds won't even eat the damn stuff!

I know there was a durian thread a little while back. Just wanted to say that the 'King of Fruits' is alright by me.
Great taste, not so great smell. Eat it at breakfast and you can still taste it at tea time!
