....as in flippin' triples, from the last three years or so. Let's see some more! (at least three more, anyways...!)

Man... makes me wish I lived down south, sometimes. You (I?) rarely ever get multiple snakes here in the HD... only trip I ever had was 3 specks under one rock.
Then again... lots less people up here too, which makes waiting for spring worth it. :D jim

If you flip a double and then notice a snake out on the crawl at the same time, does that count?

Cool idea Kent! I don't care for boas, but that triple flip is neat. Actually I think flipping 3 of any kind of snake is cool, but gotta love the triple rattlesnake flips. Makes you kinda worry though.

Here's my only contribution:

Those darn mountain kings have an annoying tendency to dash off, making in-situ shots problematic.

Brian, you've just GOT to have some triples in your archives.....!

Not quite three, but still the most exciting multiple flip I have had so far. Then again, the only snakes I see multiples of under AC are ringnecks, crotes, garters, racers...

I almost feel ashamed for putting up this one-
Image

This was a triple play, by the time I had my camera out of the bag the other boa got beneath the leaf litter(I have seen the same thing under this rock one other time, with a diff. z and at least one of the boas was a diff one, pretty cool)
Image

Fundad, you asked how you are supposed to compete with the triple Gilas...Well, it's easy, YOU DON'T....hahaha, Unless you got a triple play of Switaki.

Once I get my laptop fixed and have access to all my pics again, I know I have triple, and even a 4 banger night snake shot from the Juarez. Lots of double plays, maybe someday you guys can have a double play game...LOL

YEE-HAW! Very nice gentlemen!! I really dig the salamanders, they're something we don't see that much of here in the deep south of CA.

Very cool shots everyone! Even though helleri are common in your neck of the woods, I would love to see a three under a board. Fun stuff! Seeing helleri under boards makes me a tad nervous - don't want to lose another digit! haha

Thanks! I'm always looking for an excuse to trot out that photo - it was taken a few years ago. There were 11 snakes in that pile, and they barely fit under the smallish piece of tin covering them. It's my best flip so far for sheer numbers (but can't compete with those 50 ringneck boards!).

Very cool post and some cool discoveries. The only cool thing I can re-call flipping is a Sierra Mtns King, and then when returning release it, lifting the same rock to find a Sierra Garter. I surmise that it surfaced from the deeper, lower pill of rocks to see what the ruckus was about. Norman, I like your Gilas, but they look as if they are trapped in a barn.
