I'll play the morph game

Post by Judson »

Disclaimer: I don't give two $hits about grammar on an open forum talking about herps. If you do, I'd stop reading here.

It's been pretty slow up here in L.A. county but I have worked hard and pulled 4-5 Kings this year. This latest king my 7 year found with my 8 year old while I told them to stay put and not touch anything while I moved the car(less than a minute). They started flipping dumped concrete and other plastic trash when they found this King. As I walk up they are all excited saying "WE FOUND A KINGSNAKE!" At first I was upset because they didn't listen to my instruction not to touch ANYTHING! After some reprimanding I couldn't help but be excited with em!

Ross, what morph is this?

Best,
Isaac

btw, my boys are well instructed on our local herps and they know the difference between venomous(only one) and non venomous snakes in our area. They also wear gaiters, gloves, boots and carry snake hooks. If you are here to critize me, please PM me and we can discuss. lets keep this about the snakes. PEACE

Nice king. Like the black belly.

There are too many of those nasty 'ol rattlers down there. I'm very experienced, but still wear leather gloves while flipping there. I'd drive the point home with those youngsters. Better safe than sorry..

Take care....Terry :thumb:

Dude, that's a Striped Mud Morph. The troll is right, that's a very rare morph. Only 2 that we know of have been found and it was by the same guy about ten years ago. Me and Hubbs were talking about this morph today. (What do you think about your theory now, Hubbs?) You and your kids scored big time, man. Hubbs is going to be all over your ass for locality info if he doesn't already know. Best advise, don't tell him a thing. That is awesome! Congrats! :thumb:

You guys are too cute! I'm sure it's the same place everyone and their mother visits. I wonder how many "special" kings have been pulled out of that tract and stuffed into sweaterboxes over the years....

Seriously though, how many testicles would you sacrifice in exchange for getting your hands on that snake?

Eh, what the heck  My name is Christopher Harvey V-- E------ and I am 16 going on 17 (sound of music flashback...) very soon. I have dirty blonde hair, and recently buzzed it off. It had been very long. I do not have my license, but I do have a little pick up truck for when I do get it lol I have been herping (knowing what I actually was doing... Somewhat) since I was 13. Last year was when I knuckled down and got serious about it all. I found the forum through my cousins friend, and he drove my curioustity into an insane passion. I live in riverside county and love to herp. That's who I am :D how bout you Ross, tell us who you are!

Thanks guys! Funny thing is my youngest boy was upset because his older brother found a nicer looking SD gopher snake and all he found was an ugly kingsnake!

Some consider that morph the holy grail of L.A., but through the process of finding 70 of the 76 known morphs out there, I have pretty much become numb to any kingsnake morph. I admire them, but do not worship them. It is nice to see them, but it's also nice to eat a cheeseburger. Ho hum... 8-)

Now, finding 11 kings at one board spot in one field is quite a feat also, and I did this today... in L.A. County. yay.

And Ross: If not for me you wouldn't know half of those 70s songs...

Lame comeback, but a good video. I'm for the senile Paul...but he probably hasn't got a chance because 80% of Americans are morons or on welfare...

Holy unlyrical lyrics Drey, to the RapMobile...

Yep, they vote for the "coolest" looking guy. Ron Paul looks like a little weak wimp and that's why he won't win. Bush was a little guy, but he felt like a president. I'm telling you, I have it all figured out. Its like a beauty pageant.
