Looks like a beetle larva. Maybe a Glow Worm (Family Phengodidae). Can't see the head. All I see is that 'tuck and roll'.

I've seen adult Zarhipis out here, so you could be right.

I found this one the other day. Either a larva or larvaform female:

I think it's a glow worm, I see them rock flipping too sometimes here in San Diego. not sure what they morph into though

I would say a Glow Worm. If any of you ever make it to Snake Road you'll see thousands of them at night on the Road. It's pretty cool.
