Pity the snake didn't love us... Struck so much that he offset his own jaw.

Wonderful animal, great pics.
Even if I never write on this forum, I read it a lot, and I must say that I love all your posts, Hans :) In fact, I bookmarked the page I get when I search "dispatches". The Bornean fauna and your writing always cheer me up :)

Fantastic snake and fantastic photography Hans - I generally like Boiga. The vertebral ridge is interesting and reminds me of the African file snakes Mehelya, which makes me wonder why some snakes have it.

Thanks, chaps! It was really a beauty...and to think we almost lost it via a hole in the snake bag :-)

WOW! That is a stunning Boiga!

Interesting that the green morph doesn't come up more often. I'd imagine due to blending in more - thus hiding it from human view. At the same time since it seems to be better camouflaged, I'd expect to see more becuase its ability to hide would increase providing better protection from predators and hide from prey detection leading to a higher fitness (and subsequently more offspring with those genes).

The coloration is slightly different than those from Peninsular Malaysia. I find this specimen more stunningly colored than the ones I've found in Peninsular

So cool. Seen a few forms but never one like this! Was told some of them resemble B. bengkuluensis.

You can see all the drapiezii I have photographed here: https://www.flickr.com/search/?text=dra ... view_all=1
