I wrote up a longish post but forgot to save, so just enjoy the pictures.

I think I recognize that waterfall in the last picture
Re: Spring in Indiana
Nice shots. That darter is sweet and I have yet to see a Kirtland's Snake in the wild. I dig that Streamside Salamander as well.

I love the shot of the chorus frogs calling. Western choruses aren't that common up here in MI anymore. Stupendous salamander shots; it'll be about another week before I can start posting pics like that from the Great Lakes State.

Re: Spring in Indiana
Pretty good, it has stayed above freezing for the past two weeks, with quite a few days reaching high 50s and 60s.
Yesterday was 60 and sunny and I managed to find my first live snake of the year.

Looks like you're getting a good start to the year!
That's a shame about the Kirtland's snake. That's a neat snake and terrible to see one dead to start off the year!

Re: Spring in Indiana
Thanks Kyle. It was sad to see one dead for sure, but I was honestly happy to see it regardless. I plan on spending a lot of time in the area so I'm fairly confident I'll get a live one before summer.

Great post. I sure miss the amphibians since moving from MI. I miss IN too. My dad was born there...

Great pics! I heard the chorus frogs going nuts driving by a property in southern indiana last week. I didn't have time to stop, but I'm heading back down this Thursday so hopefully I can add some pictures of my own.

Re: Spring in Indiana
Cool post. I haven't been able to get out yet. Crazy busy at work and seems to be cold each weekend I have any time. Seeing all the stuff you have found will force me to find some time soon though. That fish is really cool and I always love seeing raptors so I really liked the barred owl.
Re: Spring in Indiana
Great pics, still not much happening around N. IL...we still have 12" of ice in most spots I frequent! This has been a difficult winter to suffer through.
That Rainbow darter is amazing.
