Our prayers are with you
As a fellow NAFHA member and a great person we should all take a few moments to pray for Kents speedy recovery. If there is anything we can do just ask....

Re: Our prayers are with you
My prayers are being sent. I love this guy. I really hope he can pull through this. He still has a lot of life in him, makes people happy and deserves to live.

Nicholas and I happened to run into Kent and Steve Bledsoe in SE AZ just two weeks ago - we spent our last day there herping together. Kent looked as strong and healthy as ever, and he put in more effort than any one of us. It's hard to believe for us that he's now in a coma. Like everyone else, we hope that Kent will make a speedy and full recovery.

Kent is beloved by everyone he meets, and in this community that is rare...
He is truly an example to us all!!!
Also he is one of the original founders of NAFHA and has worked hard behind the curtain with us every year. Not to mention he was this Chapters President for years before me.
Unfortunatly, the current update on him isn't looking real good.
Let us all hope, think, and pray for him with everything we have..

Re: Our prayers are with you
We all know how extrodinarily physically fit Kent is, so it behooves us all not to underestimate the dangers of excessive heat, which I have to believe was a main contributing factor.
If this can happen to Kent... it could happen to any of us, so if out in extreme heat, stay well-hydrated, don't over-exert yourself in direct sun, wear appropriate clothing and headgear, and stop and rest and cool down BEFORE neccessary.
I hope and sincerly pray that this is not Kent's last and most important lesson he has to teach us.

Re: Our prayers are with you
On behalf of Kent and Anne Marie, I thank you guys, and will relay to them your heart-felt sentiments and sincere show of support.
I'm in contact with Anne Marie daily. I can only tell you that Kent has been in a drug induced coma since he entered the hospital last Thursday. He's not responding to efforts to wake him up, but his vital signs are normal, including his heart function.
As his friends, about all we can do at this point is wait to see what happens while sending Kent all of the positive thoughts we can muster.
This is a reminder for all of us as to how delicate life really is.

Thanks Steve.

This had nothing to do with heat stroke or any other heat related issues.
