Six-spotted fishing spider?
Dragonfly larva from sandy upland habitat in central Florida. Can anybody get it to a family or genus? It was pretty long, around 2".

I'm not an expert on naiads, but that looks like an Aeshnid to me - Anax seems like a good bet. What kind of body of water was it in?
Re: Couple of Things
Somebody present at the time called it an Anax, but I couldn't remember what they had said until you mentioned it.
It was a sand bottom pond, pretty small pond. I can't remember if this one was fishless or not. Some around there are, and others are not.

It's an excellent photo - I'm sure if you posted it on a dragonfly forum or facebook group someone would be able to ID it at least to genus.

I'm not dying to know the genus that badly, but that compliment made my day.cbernz wrote:It's an excellent photo
