Must be nice to have a chapter where people actually want to do something... I think everyone in AZ is hibernating...
Problem with combining chapters though, is that Don cannot seem to link two states together for a contest scorecard. And that's not good for those 5 of us who even care about the contests at all...

Well, I guess we can have inactive chapters without officers. But I'm not so sure that data entry has slowed that much (but CA is behind last year by 4,000 records right now...I think you people that have been dragging need to get your data in or go find more. I know several who have just procrastinated entering a lot of stuff they've found this year). However, I think the big problem has been the few paranoid and confused people who pulled almost 6,000 records out of the database this year. That makes it tough to gage our growth accurately. But I understand what you mean about HERP, and we need to discuss that after the new group is determined by paid dues next year.

Guess I need to go find some lizards to enter now...it's a nice day in AZ.

And Steve, I think you need to walk around your neighborhood and photo every lizard you see in yards... That would be an easy project. Document all the scelops on walls and in yards in your entire area. What a hoot...and what a demonstration of abundance... :thumb:

Amazing how just speaking the plain truth can not only rock... but damn near swamp a boat...

Ca pretty much had always been the National 'Standard Bearer' when it came to organization and efficacy... hell back in the 'good ole days' there was a time when Ca had 8 officers... the regular 5 And Regional VP, Con Off, and Ed specs. (which was a key element of the 'growth paradigm' I wrote, which sadly (IMO) has since been gutted)

Didn't you actually start as a 'regional Con Off' Lawrence?

Calfirecap wrote: If we want NAFHA to be more than just a group with common interests linked to an on-line forum, then we need to continue hosting events, be it educational events or outings, and that's what I feel is important. We also need to continue promoting the HERP database even though it's now it's own entity.
The Rocky Mountain Chapter is a good example of promoting what I consider the priorities. They don't have a lot of forum activity, but they host multiple high quality events every year (Mtn. Kingsnake, speckled Rattlesnake, Gila Monster., etc., surveys) , and support the data base.

Thank you for the nomination. I accept.

This will be my last year as President though as I have not done a great job this last year, and I think its time for some new blood as President.

Since no one else was nominated there will be no need for a vote.

Thank you for everyone's time and efforts in this thread and making a difference.
