I followed this Forum for years, then took a break for the last couple, now I'm back, enjoying the opportunities to Travel Vicariously via the posts of other Herpers.
Posts from "elder" Herpers like you and Ribbit are *especially* prized.
Words are so inadequate to describe how much fun I have watching the scenery of each new place & adventure, along with your charming, confident style.
In my 20s, I lived in Orange County/Long Beach, so I know your area quite well.
(Ah, how I miss my hikes in Trabuco Canyon, along the Ortega Highway, the bluffs at Rancho Palos Verdes, or my special place at the Christianitos Spring arroyo.)
Here is just a small piece of advice before you head out next time:
I'm a very handy guy and I fit into a very small piece of luggage...
