Test this for me... NOW!

Post by Don Becker »

http://www.nafha.org/officer/index.php

Chapter presidents and secretaries should have access. Everyone else should get an error. Also, chapter presidents and secretaries should see a link to a page that shows the members in their chapters. If you are a president or secretary in multiple chapters, you should see a link for each chapter. When you click the member link, the URL will end with c=NNN. Try replacing that number to make sure it denies you access to other chapters. I will try to finish this up in the next day or so so you guys can add/remove members from your chapters on your own, and after that is done, I will make a script that syncs up the user groups here on FHF. I had some work come up today though, so won't be able to finish today, but I wanted to at least get you guys to test out the access checks for me.

I get a forbidden.
Am I suppose to get a 403 header as well? because I didn't check that. But the page does say forbidden.

I have access - or at least your link takes me to the page.
The page is blank with the exception of the menu items in the left margin and I get no warnings of any kind.

Wait, what pages were you guys getting the forbidden error on, and Steve, what pages were you able to access?

This is the address of the page I was taken to. http://www.nafha.org/officer/index.php

I followed your link again and now I get the "Forbidden - you are not allowed to access this page" warning.

It appears to be the same page I was taken to on my first try but the warning wasn't there. It is now.

Ok, steve, thats how it should be. I found a bug in the access checks. You would have had access to that main page before, but did you see any chapter lists?

Works for me (as it should), I get to a page that says "South Central Chapter" with a link to "Chapter Members" and a list of all members.

With the exception of the "Forbidden" warning, the main body of the page is blank.
The only "list" I can see on the page are the normal menu items in the left margin.
I think it's working as it should be.

Ok... So I'm a VP for the NE Chapter and secretary for the SE Chapter. When I sign in the Northeast Chapter shows up with no link, but the Southeast Chapter shows up with a "Chapter Members" link. I click on that and it works. Up in the URL it says c=4. I change that to c=3 and it says FORBIDDEN... you are not allowed access to this page.

Is that what you were hoping for?

I think I am getting what Steve is getting without the "forbidden." If I click the link "Add a new page" in the left hand column, it looks like I have access to this type of editing.

Yes, that is what is happening. It shows you the North East chapter because I will probably end up adding tools for the other officer positions too.

Nope, there should be links in the main content area if you are a president or secretary of a chapter.

Uh....Correct, no links in the main content area. But I do have Admin access for adding a new page. I guess that is something different?

Not sure what happened, but you weren't listed as the President any more. I think it's because you hold two officer positions, and that messes with the code a little.

*EDIT* On second thought, I wonder if your chapter secretary deleted you by accident because you were listed twice, and then readded you. That would remove your officer status. Just in case, I made it so you can't remove officers from the chapter. Only the DB coordinator can do that now.
