Important H.E.R.P. Links:DOR, GPS, Life List, Scorecards etc

Post by Fundad »

National DOR List
http://www.naherp.com/reports/dor.php

If you click on the State, you get the count at the state level, from there you can break it down to the county level.

DOR List by year
Also you can put a year on it like this by adding this "?year=2012"
2012 http://www.naherp.com/reports/dor.php?year=2012
2011 http://www.naherp.com/reports/dor.php?year=2011
2010 http://www.naherp.com/reports/dor.php?year=2010
Etc

Database list/Life List
For a Life List you log on to your naherp.com account FIRST then go here.
http://www.naherp.com/reports/life-list.php

May or may not be your life list, but it is your naherp database list, which is MEGA Awesome to look at..

Map of your counties. (replace the "1" at the end of the link with your user number.)
http://www.naherp.com/taxon.php?user=1

Your GPS Errors
Also while your a logged into your account your can view your entries that have GPS errors (Wrong counties and such)
http://www.naherp.com/search.php?error=1

Your Records without GPS recorded
While Logged in, click on "view my records" on the left side column, then add this to the url ; &missinggps=1
Mine looks like this.
http://www.naherp.com/search.php?r_owner=1&missinggps=1

If you have troubles with that please let us know, and we will help.

We need to add GPS to entries that don't have them, very few data requests have come across that want records without GPS.. PLEASE ADD GPS to your records.. There is a little wrench above the GPS portion of your record(s), that you can click on, from there you can find the location and click on the spot you found the herp.. "its THAT easy".. If your concerned about sensitivity of the record, you can select a higher security level for your record.

National Scorecard Current Year -For herps found in 2012.
http://www.naherp.com/reports/quarterly.php

National Scorecard Past Years -for herps found in the following years.
2011http://www.naherp.com/reports/quarterly.php?year=2011
2010http://www.naherp.com/reports/quarterly.php?year=2010
2009http://www.naherp.com/reports/quarterly.php?year=2009
Etc

All Time Scorecard -Very Cool -Takes a minute to load
http://www.naherp.com/reports/overall-rankings.php

Please note, that if you click on the top columns while in those scorecard links, it will change the order from, most to least or least to most, for each category. :thumb:

A List of unvouchered counties in the database
http://www.naherp.com/util/unvouchered.php

Download all of your records, including vouchers
http://www.naherp.com/user/download.php
It downloads all your records and vouchers. You have to click start though, also, if you run it multiple times, it only downloads the new vouchers, it doesn't redownload everything every time.

Cool naherp.com features..
Profile edits
To View your profile click on "profile" in the upper right hand corner while logged into naherp.com

You can change how species are listed, and you can put the common name at the top of each record by changing this preference;
"Display order for taxa in search results "

Change how many records per page are listed by adjusting this field;
"How many search results should be listed per page:"

Change Default security level;
"Default security level for new records:"

Change what happens to your data if you miss a vote;
"When a request for data is approved, but I did not vote:"

ALSO VERY important please make sure your email address is an email you check regularly.
"E-mail Address:"

You can also view which chapters you are "officially" a member of
"Chapter:"

Note: If you don't see a chapter you thought you were a part of, please make sure
your FHF (Fieldherpforum.com) username matches EXACTLY to the name entered in this field;
"Field Herp Forum Username: "

Other Cool Features while viewing your records

Viewing your records in Google Earth
If you have Google Earth Loaded on your PC, Click on
"My Records in Google Earth"
on the left hand column while logged in.. It is a MEGA COOL feature and if you haven't done it yet, YOUR MISSING OUT!!

You can also export your records
Click on Export My Records while logged in or go to this url;
http://www.naherp.com/user/export.php
This is an awesome way to send info to people or agencies, or whoever outside of a data requests. This is a great way to add private notes and good for keeping a backup in case the hard drive fails
- also, the kml file summary is cool as hell!

Note:The export tool can do small subsets of data or make backups without vouchers, the download tool is just to make a backup w/vouchers.

You can view Data Requests
By clicking on the view data requests link on the left hand column.

This is a work in progress, and if someone has something to add please let me know, and We'll add it here. :thumb:

A huge thanks to all the members that helped put this list and the ideas of these links.

And a Monster Thank You to Don Becker (psyon) for creating all of these links on our behalf,. :beer:

Good additions, I ll add them. :thumb:

And adjust this list to be from a national perspective, and ask Don to make it a sticky.

I think I need to add the all time scorecard too.

I don't mean to be a complete moron here, but how do you find out your user number? It may be incredibly obvious, but its not seeming that way for me. Thanks!

No worries. :thumb:

If you log into your naherp.com account, and click on the "View My Records" link on the right hand side of the page, you will see your user number on the far right hand side of the url in your browser.

Let me know if that works for you?

Thanks Phil, These lists and cool features is byproduct of many NAFHA members contributions and ideas, but mostly the work of psyon. I just thought it would be cool to have em in one place..

I added the download tool function.

Thanks Don for making this a sticky, and as always thank you for all of your efforts.

It downloads all your records and vouchers. You have to click start though, also, if you run it multiple times, it only downloads the new vouchers, it doesn't redownload everything every time.
If you edit a record, will it redownload and overwrite the previous version?

*Edit, nevermind I see, the data is just in a spreadsheet. Photos are independent.

But I cant figure out how to match the photos to the data in the spreadsheet?

I thought I included a list of vouchers with the CSV, but apparently now. I'll get it corrected.

Oh! Duh, I see what I did... the first number in the voucher filename is the record ID.

Are these records still being updated? Or has everything gone over to HerpMapper?
