Year's already begun for me, earlier than ever (we still expect snow and frosts for a few weeks to come normally), so beginning the wildlife videos already. The description on YouTube makes note of the ID flub on one of the animals here but for anyone who doesn't head there to watch: what I thought was a painted turtle when I prepped and loaded the video, was ID'ed by someone else as yet another non-native, the yellow-bellied slider.
More videos eventually to come this year; waiting on warm weather again, some more funds to be able to afford traveling, etc....

Shows up fine as a thumbnail vid for me...problem's probably on your end as it's doing what it's supposed to far as I can see.
Re: Carlton Carnivores' Herping 2022
Biggest trip I've taken thus far, day 1:
And thumbnail is showing up in preview for me, if it doesn't show up here the video is active on the Carlton Carnivores channel on YouTube.

Re: Carlton Carnivores' Herping 2022
Day 2 of the Kansas trip is now up; 3 lifer snakes, 1 lizard, 1 frog, and a whole lot of species that haven't ever been on the channel yet.
Re: Carlton Carnivores' Herping 2022
Kansas Day 3 (which we spent mostly in Oklahoma instead). Some of the most brightly colored box turtles I have ever seen...
Re: Carlton Carnivores' Herping 2022
Nice job filming that mink I've only seen a few in all my years. They're hard to come by and usually gone within a few seconds. Good job being on top of things
Just watched the other two... Liked the kingsnakes and Plains belly footage. Good finds The dark racers look cool and I like the footage of you catching the frog with the shoulder GoPro The one where your face is in the shot. It was Psychedelic like something from an acid trip, with the whimsical background tune, and distorted artistic quality… Great footage !! reminded me of a scene from Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas Haha I seriously dug it thoroughly
Good variation and good trip

A video from more locally for me...and with a reminder, watch where you put your rocks...
Re: Carlton Carnivores' Herping 2022
A short outing with the local PARC chapter:
Re: Carlton Carnivores' Herping 2022
The first video from my trip to New Mexico a couple weeks ago; apparently I arrived slightly too early, as rains messed up a lot of plans (or lack thereof earlier on did too...), but we still found some stuff:
Re: Carlton Carnivores' Herping 2022
Video number 2 from New Mexico; this one (and the ones to come) each managed to come from just one day:
Re: Carlton Carnivores' Herping 2022
Day 4 in New Mexico, the far southwest corner. Apparently, this was to be the day of toads...
Re: Carlton Carnivores' Herping 2022
Day 5: the snakes finally started revealing themselves...
Re: Carlton Carnivores' Herping 2022
Final Day in New Mexico; it started strong:

A good day in NoCO:

Did not get any assistance from here, unfortunately, but found someone else who helped share some info to make a recent, very short AZ trip a success. Day 1, arrival:
Re: Carlton Carnivores' Herping 2022
Arizona day 2, part 1 (it was a very busy day):
Re: Carlton Carnivores' Herping 2022
The best part of the Arizona trip IMO:

The final evening in AZ:
Re: Carlton Carnivores' Herping 2022
This might be the last vid from this year, wildlife-wise...unless some miracle permits a tropical trip
Re: Carlton Carnivores' Herping 2022
A year in review; it's not all herps, but a lot of it was:
