Looking for advice - How should I heat and light this custom tank?

Post by melissaisdown »

3 yr old female Florida Kingsnake habitat

I have an idea what would work best, but wanted to ask others first. Probably moving her over to this tank in next few weeks.

Would like to eventually breed her in this tank, so any advice on that is also appreciated. Thank you!

Just noticed this and I am sure you figured something out, but i use radiant heat panels from reptile basics. They are more expensive than cheaper ways to heat an enclosure but I think they are better for snakes. I would connect it to a good thermostat, either a herpstat or a ranco etc (you can buy them prewired). I would not use the cheap one (inkbird, jumpstart, etc) as I've had one of those stick in the on position before. Two tstats connected to each other is a good failsafe as is making sure they cannot fall out of place and stop monitoring.
