Car window photography

Post by Owen »

Got some decent coyote shots out my car window last week considering the 1/50 and 1/60 second shutter speeds.

Of course, 1/10 sec at 400mm doesn't quite get it done:

Great.
Could you tell what the coyote had in his mouth?

aside - Seems like a car is a great blind for birds and basking turtles.
I bought one of these several years ago, for just these opportunities.

Yeah, that would work if I had time to pull off the road, shut the engine down (vibration), crawl to the passenger side and attach... the entire time saying, "Please don't leave, please don't leave". ;) As it happened, I shot this while idling in the middle of the road.

All kidding aside, it looks like a decent unit, but a big bean bag would be faster.

You got that right and you certainly do have to shut off the car!

This is a good series.
It's more than just animal pics, it shows a touch of behavior.
