Cool light rain, Nice day to see Red Efts out and about in SE NY
Today in SE NY there was a cool light rain before the heavier rains hit. It was a nice day to go for a quick stroll in the nearby woods to see some Red Efts out and about.

Thanks Cebus
The "efts" in Louisiana are dull orange in the hilly parts, but dull olive-brown in the swamplands.
I enjoyed the three photos. Any photos of the habitat?

Jeff,
Sorry, I didn't take any. I will try to do better in the future. It was typical northeast deciduous forest uphill from a lake. I am guessing it was mostly oak and maple with some white birch and hickory here and there. Understory was partly ferns, ragweed, moss, some azalea and other prickly shrubs I don't know the names of, as well as little white, purple and blue flowers that I also can't name. Sorry this is so vague. I will try to remember to include habitat pictures.
