Herping in Michigan

Hi all,
I am mostly looking to see if anyone is in Michigan, and to see if they'd be willing to help out a newb. I spend a lot of time outside and am actively looking for/identifying just about anything that catches my eye. I am interested in however, learning more in depth about herps. Any advice is welcome!
